New Faculty to Present at EPSA
From noon to 1:30 pm on Monday, November 19, all three new faculty members in Educational Psychology, Ed, Percival Matthews and Haley Vlach will talk about their research programs and their newly created labs at the Educational Psychology Student Association (EPSA) meeting. All three presentations will take place in 259 Educational Sciences.
Ed to Present as Part of American Education Week
Ed will be presenting as part of a panel discussion with Percival Matthews, Mitch Nathan and Martha Alibali titled “Educating the Mathematical Brain” as part of the School of Education’s American Education Week activities from 9:00 – 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 14 (for the full program, click here).
Ed to Present at Brain Food Lunch
Ed will be giving a 15-minute talk on our previous fMRI studies of how children acquire number symbols as part of the Brain Food Lunch series at the Waisman Center next Wednesday, 10/24 at noon.
Development of Numerical Cognition Symposium a Huge Success
On Monday, October 15, nine speakers from all over the United States presented their work as part of a nano-symposium on the Development of Numerical Cognition at the Society for Neuroscience meeting in New Orleans. The symposium attracted about 80 attendees, all of them highly interested in development, numerical cognition and reasoning. All of the talks were great, and the audience asked a number of great questions! Having a forum to bring education to the neuroscientists, is crucial for to growing this emerging field!

First Ed. Neuro. Lab Presentation at SFN!
Ed will be heading to New Orleans to present our work on children’s math and number processing at the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting Oct. 13-17. His presentation will be part of a nano-symposium on the Development of Numerical Cognition.
