Welcome to Kinesiology 119: Introduction to Kinesiology!
This course is intended to introduce students to the field of Kinesiology and the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Introductory material about physical activity and health will be provided, and departmental faculty and invited speakers will discuss their areas of expertise. In addition, career opportunities in Kinesiology will be discussed.
Students are encouraged to visit the syllabus page and to print a copy of the syllabus, objectives, and assignment schedule.
About Learning Online / Course Navigation
This couse is taught in a blended format. Blended courses (also known as hybrid or mixed-mode courses) are classes where a portion of the traditional face-to-face instruction is replaced by web-based online learning. This means that you will have one class day to prepare for our weekly face-to-face meeting by going through a series of online materials. It is our experience that students who dedicate specific times of their week to sit down and interact with the content usually have greater success. Every element of the material has been selected to help meet the course and unit objectives; with that in mind please don't be tempted to skip ahead. Work through the schedule, do the reading, utilize the web resources, and enjoy the various presentations. If you have questions please keep in contact via email or the online course discussion.
