Videos

Videos are fun to edit. From spring 2009, I started editing videos with GarageBand and iMovie in Educational Technology courses I took with with Professor Michael Thomas and Professor Michael Streibel. Later I used iMovie, Final Cut, and Windows Movie Maker to edit slides on the timeline, add captions, and blend in soundtracks. At the Fluno Center I learn to use Camtasia and Vegas to create tutorial videos. Later I began to use Adobe After Effect to create videos for advertisement. From EPD, I sharpened my skills with Camtasia and ScreenFlow to do screen captures, and with Adobe Media Encoder and Handbrake for video format conversions. It is always fascinating for me to be able to produce meaningful multimedia works to engage the audience and deliver a message.

Video 3

This was one of the tutorial videos I made for Fluno Center staff. This video demonstrated how to login to a file server, upload and zip files to creat a weblink, and send out the link via email so recipients could download the uploaded file(s), regardless of the attachment file size limit allowed on a server. Goal: Show and tell how to take advantage of an existing file server to solve a attachment-file-size problem. Tools: Camtasia Studio 6. Collaborator(s): none.

Video 2

This was a video I made for the Digital Story-telling class with Professor Michael Streibel in Fall 2009. We learned about narration structures, watched prize-winning footages from New York Times website and several avant-garde directors, and at the end put together 3 minor video projects to develop a 3-chapter footage that narrated a coherent story. I chose Windows Movie Maker as a tool because it was handy on my laptop. Goal: Publish a story with digital media production tools. Tools: Windows Movie Maker; Collaborator(s): none.
